The following terms and conditions apply to all pupils attending the Loretta Legge Theatre School. These should be carefully read on enrollment:-
All fees are payable each Term, in advance, i.e. at the beginning of each new term and are non-refundable or transferable. A full terms notice of withdrawal in writing is required.
New pupils may pay weekly for the first three weeks, after which an invoice for the remainder of the term will be issued. PLEASE NOTE – If fees are still outstanding at the end of a term, no further lessons will be given in the new term.
Methods of payment is by cheque, cash, debit card or bank transfer.
For practical and ethical reasons it is not possible for pupils to attend another Theatre / Dance School during the period in which they are enrolled with us.
For the same reasons we cannot accept pupils who are attending others schools.
This is standard practice with all reputable schools.
Our examining body is the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.) One of the largest members of the International Dance Council. Pupils will follow graded exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz Syllabi from Preparatory to Majors.
Full knowledge of the Syllabus and ability to execute to a good standard is required to pass from one grade to the next.
Exam sessions are held at the studio throughout the year and ability to enter and pass is assessed by Miss Legge & Miss Sharratt.
CHILDREN WILL NOT BE ENTERED FOR EXAMINATIONS IF FEES ARE NOT FULLY PAID UP.
It is the Parent or Guardians responsibility to inform us of any relevant health or injury problems concerning their child. Such information will be held in strict confidence.
On enrolment a registration form must be completed.
We must be informed of change of address, phone numbers or email immediately to ensure that we can contact parent / guardian in case of an emergency.
Alternative contact number should be given.
All uniform is available from our on line dance store. Login details – leg.mydancestore.co.uk (create your own account with email and password.) Please make sure you purchase the correct style and colour for your child’s class, this will vary with age and subject. The wrong uniform or shoes may not be worn in an exam and marks can be deducted for ill fitting dancewear.
The correct uniform should be worn for class to enable the teacher to correct posture and muscle tone.
It is very important that dance shoes are not bought with “growing room”. Shoes that are too big cause many technique problems and poor exam results. Help and advice will be given at the studio, please ask.
School productions are presented every other year, dates are issued well in advance. Routines are rehearsed during normal class times and exams are not taken during show rehearsal periods.
All staff have the relevant D.B.S. checks to comply with the Child Protection Act.
Photographs and videos may be taken from time to time of pupils in class or during shows. Please inform us if you do not wish your child to be included in our publicity.
